WHAT WE DO

The Local Councils Association of – Baluchistan (LCA-B) was established in 2008 under, “The Societies Registration Act, 1860” as an independent and private association of the elected local government representatives. The Association, being a representative body of more than 42,000 elected councilors, aims to increase the effective participation of the councilors and citizens in local government planning, development and decision-making within the framework of participatory democracy and associative spirit.

Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) issued schedule for first phase of local government elections of village/neighborhood and tehsil/city councils in 17 out of total 35 districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa where LG elections would be held on the coming December 19.

The Hon. CM Punjab shared positive intentions to support upcoming LG elections. The discussion led to ponder on newly amended LG act and it's interesting features to genuinely decentralised the LG system and devolve the powers at lowest tier possible.
