WHAT WE DO

The Local Councils Association – Baluchistan (LCA-B) was established in 2008 under, “The Societies Registration Act, 1860” as an independent and private association of the elected local government representatives. The Association, being a representative body of more than 42,000 elected councilors, aims to increase the effective participation of the councilors and citizens in local government planning, development and decision-making within the framework of participatory democracy and associative spirit.

Quarterly Meeting of Provincial Alliance on SDGs in Balochistan to discuss the structure and plan of action. The members unanimously decided to declare LEAD for SDGs Programme as first Secretariat and formulated a working group, comprised of a rep from each stakeholder. 1/2

Ms. Shahina Kakar MPA from ANP said that the reforms discussions from this policy dialogue will be debated in the Standing Committee on LG. She said that gender equality would not be possible without women's inclusiveness and participation in the local govt system. 3/6
